I found a really weird game on a floppy disk labelled "RUN!" that was mixed in with some old shareware. It runs directly in the browser.

It is basically a dark, horror reskin of a dinosaur running and jumping game, but it gets creepier the more you score. There's this low-frequency heartbeat sound that speeds up as you go, and once you get past 150 points the whole screen turns blood red.

Once you cross 350 points, the scanlines start glitching out like a broken CRT monitor, and these creepy flying skull specters appear. I got to 620 points and this massive glowing red eye appeared in the background and stared right at me. I swear I saw messages like "DONT LOOK BACK" flashing on screen.

Does anyone know who made this? There was no readme on the disk.

Wow, this is highly unsettling. I gave it a play and the heartbeat sound is actually generated procedurally in real-time using the web audio engine, which is pretty advanced! Usually these games just loop a crappy midi file.

The flying skull wraiths caught me completely off guard. I ended up dying at 340. The transition into the crimson phase is incredibly smooth. Very nice work whoever put this together.

The horizontal shifting glitches in Stage 3 are crazy authentic! They simulate classic CRT horizontal hold failure perfectly.

I'm looking through the canvas drawing loop now. The way the developer structured the coordinate offsets to mimic screen shaking on death and during stage changes is really clever. Definitely not standard beginner code.

Has anyone managed to make it past 600? I hit 650 and the background turned black and I heard weird synthesized whispering laughs.

Also, the dino skeleton's eyes started pulsing like crazy. This game feels a bit too creepy to just be a standard reskin, it has some serious ARG vibes.

Just got 730 points. The giant eye in the back is absolutely terrifying, it dilates and pulses! And the screen occasionally blacked out or flashed solid red for a split second, which made me jump and hit a dead tree branch.

It's incredibly addictive but genuinely gave me chills. Best spooky browser game on the forum, hands down.
